Barry initiated his career in the financial services industry in 1997 working for AXA advisors.  It was here he met and began working with his future business partner, Paul Gaschen.  In 2000 they made the decision to start Gaschen, Johnston and Associates, LLC.  Barry’s commitment to give the highest quality of service has allowed his business to solidly grow year after year.  The degree of success Barry has achieved in working with individuals and small businesses has provided the opportunity to develop a solid professional tie-in with the accounting firm of Gary, Bowers, & Miller, as well as Peoples Bank of Lubbock.*  There he provides high quality service and products for their clientele that have specific investment needs.

 Barry is a true West Texan, growing up as the son of a cotton farmer in Lockney.  He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1973 with a Bachelors of Business Administration. After starting his career in the insurance and agri-business industry, Barry spent 13 years in the telecommunications sector before finding his place in the financial services industry. 

 Barry and his wife, Jana, share four children, Robin Kemper and her husband Jay, Mindy Douglas and her husband Brad, Davis Jones and his wife Kerri, and Bethany Williamson and her husband Clint.  They are blessed with 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  They are actively involved at First United Methodist Church of Lubbock.  Barry is a Rotarian and former member of the Greater Lubbock Rotary Club.  He also sits on the Board of Directors for Lubbock Meals on Wheels and is a past President of the board.
